Sherwood Press Group has strengthened its commitment to the greeting card industry with the purchase of a new Iberica Optima 105 die cutting machine.
Following a very busy and prosperous Christmas period for the Group, together with an overall business growth, Sherwood has made a major investment of £350,000 and further boosted its finishing capacity.
Sherwood Press MD, Graham Garrod explained: “We are pleased to see a number of new greeting card ranges being released by our customers at the start of the New Year. As a winner of the ‘Social Stationery Printer of the Year’ award in 2013 we need to ensure we keep the momentum going by providing our customers with not only the best quality and printing capabilities available, but also additional finishing kit to meet their volume requirements”.
The new Iberica machine is an addition to Sherwood’s Iberica JR-105 and Iberica Optima 105 purchased in November 2012 to increase manufacturing capacity and efficiency. The new piece of equipment will be installed at the company’s Nottingham manufacturing site during April 2014.
The recent purchase is a part of the Group’s continuous investment, since April 2011 Sherwood Press has invested £3.5 million as part of a £6 million spend for the Group’s as a whole.
