The Sherwood Group are delighted to announce that we have retained our BRC ‘AA’ certification from The British Retail Consortium, with absolutely no minor non-conformances.
Following an extensive audit process and vigorous inspection of our manufacturing facility in Nottingham, The Sherwood Group achieved a ‘High Hygiene Category’ certification of the BRC Global Standard for ‘Packaging and Packaging Materials’.
BRC guarantees the standardisation of quality, safety and operational criteria and ensures that legal obligations and protection are met and provided for the end consumer.
The ‘High Hygiene Category’ requirements relate to the production of packaging that comes into direct contact with food or with other hygiene sensitive products.
To meet the requirements of the standard, the Group yet again excelled in expectations across a stringent set of criteria. The principal requirements are the adoption and implementation of a ‘Hazard and Risk Management System’, a documented and effective quality management system and a control of the factory environmental standards, products, processes and personnel.

Sherwood have been producing food packaging since 2009 and achieved their first BRC accreditation in 2010. The BRC award is a testament of Sherwood’s commitment to service, quality, exemplary procedures and high-quality staff.
