The Sherwood Group are delighted to announce that we have retained our BRC ‘AA’ certification from The British Retail Consortium, following this year’s rigorous inspection in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Sherwood Group’s facility in Nottingham was audited against the more rigorous food safety and product integrity standards. This ensures processes and working practices have been effectively implemented to mitigate any risks during the coronavirus pandemic.
The Group demonstrated the implementation of contingency plans and new procedures on site to manage the impact of Covid-19, focusing on increased hygiene requirements, creating a safe working environment for their staff and continued production of safe products.
Richard Bacon, MD of the Sherwood Group commented: “The focus has been placed on changing the way we work, introducing social distancing and new working practices to protect the health of our staff during the pandemic. The achievement of an ‘AA’ grade provides the highest level of assurance and gives our customers confidence in the safety and quality of their product during these challenging times.”
The ‘High Hygiene Category’ requirements relate to the production of packaging that comes into direct contact with food or with other hygiene sensitive products. Sherwood have been producing food packaging since 2009 and achieved their first BRC accreditation in 2010.
