Apply Now >An opportunity has arisen for self-motivated Individual to join our team as a Reprographics Pre-Press Operator, As a key member of our production department, you will be responsible for preparing and manipulating artwork files to the highest standards for litho print and large format prototyping. Your expertise in Esko Artpro+ and Adobe Creative Suite software will ensure the smooth and efficient flow of our projects.
Your key responsibilities will be:-
- Pre-flighting and preparing artwork files: Thoroughly checking supplied artwork for resolution, colour accuracy, bleeds, and other technical specifications to ensure print/production readiness.
- File manipulation and correction: Making necessary adjustments to artwork using industry-standard software (Esko Artpro+).
- Artwork creation: Creating artwork files from scratch in Adobe Illustrator.
- Creating print-ready PDFs: Generating high-quality PDF files with correct settings for our litho print presses.
- Imposed press sheet PDFs: Checking flats before releasing to proof and plate.
- Liaising with the design, commercial and production teams: Communicating effectively regarding artwork queries, amendments, and project progress.
- Maintaining organised file management: Ensuring all files are stored and archived efficiently according to company protocols.
- Working to a production schedule: Monitoring and prioritizing workload based on a press-room and finishing department production plan.
- Ordering: Production components such as coating plates, dies and foil.
- Plate making.
The successful applicant will require the following:
- Proven experience (minimum of one year) working as a folding cartons Pre-press Operator or in a similar pre-press/production role in Esko Artpro or Artpro+.
- A sound working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop) is essential.
- A strong understanding of PC systems print processes.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Exceptional organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Knowledge and experience of working with Kodak Prinergy and Esko Automation Engine is also desirable but not essential, as training will be given.
